  • Damn dude, that frickin sucks. I don't do that shit on here any more, that was a 10K lesson for me. Send guys parts they got to have right away, never send the money and disappear from the site. Thats what ya get for being a nice guy! Do you have any paper work that says he owes you the money? Wow, that takes a set of bawls
Still riding the 03 RX1, only have 12 k on it so will run it a while longer, I need to do something with the clutching but it may have to wait another year (doesnt rev past 9200) , my son bought his first sled with lawn mowing money (a 2000 formula S 380 ) so I have had to spend my play money on it, hows things on your end, I had to try to buy your 97 again, but can you blame me ?? whats new in the project department ?
    Hi Kirk,

We've been trying for years to nail down how many were actually built for each year. There was an article on Yamaha Sled Talk that said there were 52 '97's made in Canada, but we haven't found the actual production numbers from Yamaha. There is a post that is documenting serial numbers trying to determine how many were built here: http://www.vmax4.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?6559-Calling-all-Vmax4s-Calling-all-Vmax4s/page6&highlight=calling+all+vmax-4%27s

As far as how many are actually still alive, your guess is as good as mine. They were phasing out the Vmax-4 by '97 to make way for the SRX, so they didn't make very many. If you have one that's in good shape, I would definitely advertise on all of the sled sites and hold out for the highest offer, because it's more rare than a Harley gas tank and is worth some money.

    Shark
there in real great shape. not to sure if i want to part with them, yes i have stock pipes for both my sleds.i guess money talks if i am going to sell them to be honest. hard to find
