800 topend on 750

I have an extra 800 motor here, and was thinking pretty strongly about putting the top end on my '93 bottomend. Already has 800 CDI wired in and currently running aaen pipes. just curious how much hassle it will be. I realize I need piston pin converters. Will anything else give me trouble. Jetting I can figure out.

Good luck with the project. I'm sorry,I meant to say I used the Wiseco pistons with 16mm pin bore made for the 750 bottom end.

ok, correct me if I'm wrong but the 750 OEM pistons took a 16mm pin, and the 800 OEM pistons took an 18mm pin. Would anyone happen to have the specs to build the converters so I can use 800 OEM pistons on the 750 bottomend?

Yes 16mm-750, 18mm-800. Not sure how you would make that work right without boring the 750 rod ends 1mm over. Trying to keep a 16mm pin in a 18mm piston proberly bushed and clipped is a dicey deal.

If you have the complete 800 engine just put your 93 stator on it so you stay plug and play on the ignition and bolt it. Much less effin around than the jug swap.

Pat Hauck used to sell bushings for the purpose of running pistons with 18mm wrist pins on the 750 bottom end. I may even have a couple.

I thought about just putting in the 800 engine, seems much easier. I have just wanted to use the bigger displacement on a 750 bottom end that has, what seems to me, advantages over the 800 bottom. Just curious to see what it work like.
