yes, I have a special Bender Box cdi which still fires at 90 degrees but revs over 11000rpm. I kept the 90 degree firing since i don't actually race the sled and wanted to be able to start it in winter.

I have someone picking the sled up tomorrow. so thanks vmax-4!! Took about 10 minutes from posting!

new owner picked up the sled today driving 6 hours and i drove 3 to my parents house for thanksgiving but it was 3 hours in his direction. I'll leave it up to him if he wants to post as the new owner.

I felt sad seeing it go, that 2 stroke 4 cylinder motor was the reason i switched to yamaha in 92 and i've bought at least 20+ new yamahas since then. Vmax-4 is definitely a favorite.

I'm am also selling: RX1 Turbo, SRX Powervalve 1000, Mxz 1025, Viper, SRX, SX rolling chasis.

Can you tell me when if the engine was built in 95?My bender 800 prostock has a different looking set of pipes, they have a sectional welded head pipe then transtion into stamped style chambers. They run at 10,400

chris

I ran the motor at 10200 but the powerband didn't drop, just didn't go up much more so i clutched on the low side, The engine and pipes were built in early fall 94. They may have stamped later pipes to save time.

Well, you guys need to keep guessing!!:2dontknow

I know who got it, but I will keep that quite till he "owns up to it" here.

Only reason I know is due to some parts "action" I have with him & he mentioned it this morning that he was going to get this bad boy. I am sure he will be talking about it when the time is right. Definately a SWEET SLED & it found a good home!!:4fzfk2:

Hey Ike, not likely, would have loved something like it, but nope.

Got my current ST all tore down for the "remodel-conversion-upgrade etc" for this season.

Next sled I buy after finishing the Max will be a late 70's SRX or a 76 Merc Sno or TrailTwister. Love the "vintage hot rod sleds" but need to finish the Max so I can ride in Jan. That & I have a feeling that my wife will not appreciate 2 sled projects going on at once!!:frech32:
Something about too many projects at one time??

Kinda surprised that the "new owner" has not "owned" up to this sweet deal.
Since he is quiet, I will not "blow" this thing for him. I am sure he will show his "hand" when he is ready!!:2dontknow
