I've been a loyal Yamaha sled and cycle owner for years. I have always admired these 4 cylinder screamers but never had the chance to own one. By pure luck, I came across this one 3 years ago at the end of the season from a guy who was trying to get enough money together to buy a Harley. Of course it had sat for a few seasons and he couldn't get it running so I was able to buy it cheap. I took it home, did the usual, (drained the old gas, cleaned the carbs, installed new plugs) and she fired right up. As I took it out for the first time, I was half giggling like a school girl and half crapping in my pants as I began to experience the thrill of this thing's insane speed, instant acceleration, and the amazing sound it produces when it winds up. However, I'm getting older and most of my riding is on trails with my teenage kids and their friends. I've come to the realization that the majority of my time on this sled is spent going only 20-25mph on the trail, wrestling with the heavy steering, and pouring gallon after gallon of gas down its throat so I've decided to sell it. After recently joining this forum and realizing that there are lots of others out there that share my appreciation for this machine, I thought I would post it for sale here first so that it might go to a "good home" with someone who is passionate about these sleds. Here are the particulars:

Date of Manufacture: July 1995, Serial #: 8BU-003506, Color: Bright Red, Miles: 3986, New ski-skins & wear bars, Seat is perfect, All electrics work, Handwarmers, Newer track with carbide studs, Body is good, frame is straight, no cracks in the fiberglass. Somewhere along the line, somebody repainted the hood and added a flame job. Not the best flames I've ever seen but the red base paint is good and matches the tunnel.
I would rate the overall looks of the sled as an 8 out of 10. Mechanically it is a very strong runner. It appears to be completely stock.

I'm asking $1,750.

Sorry, I've tried to load pictures to this post but for some reason, it won't let me. I have pics and a video I can send under separate e-mail if you are interested.

Call me at (765) 412-4457. I am located in Indiana. Thanks.

damn I wish I had the money!!!!!

and yeah, sounds like a 96..they never made a red one in 95..only black...(plus the numbers give it away i believe)

Thanks, the guy I bought it from said it was a '96 but after I read the sticker on the tunnel saying that it was built in July 95, I wasn't sure so I went with the sticker.

If anyone can provide guidance on how to post pictures, I will get them on this thread. I read the instructions in the Help section but at the bottom of my post, it tells me in the "Posting Permissions" box that I may not post attachments.

Sent a PM...with my email address if you want to email me the pics, I`ll post them..

If I wasn't 1000 miles away Al I would take them for you and you could post them as Bubba's new ride!! :)

yeah i was built in 95 maybe but that doent make it a 95... dont worry too much sleds are always listed as the wrong year haha

Big Al, interested in a trade? I have a 95 2 cylinder vmax600. I just had the primary rebuilt by the dealer and it rides real nice and it's quick

I would like to see if it sells out-right first so let's wait a week or two. If I'm not able to sell it by then, maybe we could work something out. Thanks.

Here are the pictures of Big Als 96 sled.
