Looking at a 99 srx to buy, 700 triple, Any draw backs to this sled that I should look for??

It has 7,000 miles on it, He asking 1500 for it, Studded track, reeds, but otherwise stock. Going to look at it tonight. Is that a good price??

Bought it anyway, Kinda stole it 1350 dollars, Exceptionally clean, Dealer maintained, with receipts, With matching yamaha jacket and srx cover.
Very Impressed with First ride...... very nice, Engages about 4000 rpms.
I LIKE..:4fzfpi:

Looks good and the price was right for sure. Did he happen to say if he painted the tunnel and front end parts????

1998 -2000 Sleds were all blue.

:agree: Sweet deal!! DV8 your lucky you saw that one before I did as we are in the same neighborhood and I would have had a hard time passing that deal up....:muahaha:

Yes he painted the sides and front end, To make it look like a 01, Very good paint job looks factory..

Yeah when I saw the ad I figured I had better go look that day, The other ones I looked at wanted at least 2000 for something decent to 3500. I love good deals..

To compare it to the vmax is kinda apples and oranges, At least I think, SRX handles much better than the MAX, and it seems to have better low end aceleration, Also more comfortable. This also could be mostly attributed to the clutching, I still like the looks of the MAX better, Both sleds Lots of fun...

If you ever see Ohlins front shocks for sale get them. All SRX's in Canada had them and they make a huge difference I'm told. I never tried one without, but with them, they are stuck to the corners like glue.
I put a few one-way trail (lots of curves) miles on a '98 and crashed my Max into a tree right after I switched back. I grabbed the brake (not a lot happened) coming into a tight corner and said "Oh no, back on the Max........" then bang..........LOL!
Great find though!

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep watch for a set..

Well the Snow gods bessed us with snow, And alot of it. Got to stretch out the Max and SRX, MAX is still faster, by at least 5 to 6 sled lengths. SRX is much smoother from low end up, Doesnt seem to pull real hard on top though... HAve to look into it.
