Broken front shaft

1993 V-Max 4
This past weekend while driving in deep snow I twisted off the front shaft between the 1st and 2nd drive wheels. What is the best source for getting a new one? How much should I expect to pay? What else should I look for while I have it apart? What is the best procedure for putting the shaft, suspension, and track all back into place.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Post a few pictures so we can see damage. Here's some good directions on track replacement. I would add that your chain case will need to be completely removed to get drive axle out.
