Ice racing with no sliders?

Just picked Up 800 imp. Was last grass raced. Had no sliders. Went to put on noticed no track clips. All removed. The rubber area where the clips should be has no signs of rubbing on the aluminum rails. It does have extra wheels. Any body tried this setup on ice? Anybody have very nice speed track for sale in Detroit area? 121

I don't think Spirudamax uses slides on his for grass either. Less drag.
