Joe got your message and sent one back. It is easier to track down a seat off of a 1996 Yamaha Vmax XT model. Same seat and just have to change the lettering over to red from white with a sharpie and patients. I have seen several XT,S on the market with minty seats on them. Might have to buy a whole sled for the good seat, but swap out seats then sell the sled if you are a careful shopper, and you got your seat for nothing!!!...Rob.
The tunnels and seats are the same and the seat will bolt right on off of an 1996 XT. This seat had the same extra padding that was equal to the extra padded seat of the 1996 Vmax4. The later model Vmax seats will NOT fit. Perhaps this is what you are getting confused with?...Rob.
