So I heard it was possible to run outboard coils to get a more solid spark I just got my new cdi box working so I was wondering if anyone had anything to say about this mysterious application I heard of ???
 

Never heard of that one. Have no idea why coils on an outboard would be and better than anything else simply for that reason.

I've heard a lot of things like that over the years though and in most cases when you ask the "why?" question you can't get an answer.

Hot coil did bump HP when running alcohol. May help a bit with high end fuel, 112 and up.
A lot of outboard coils made more energy. Maybe from all the surface gap plugs they tried to use, not sure why
