HEY FELLAS;

RECENTLY REBUILT MY VMAX4 750. CLEANED CARBS, PUT FRESH "HI-TEST" GAS IN IT,
LOTS OF SPARK, NEW SPARK PLUGS (BR9ES)
RUNS COLD ON THE R/S(recoil) SIDE BOTH CYLINDERS. I CAN REST MY HAND ON THE Y-PIPE.
THE TEMP COMES RIGHT UP THE L/S SIDE.

WHAT IS CAUSING THIS?? I'M BAFFLED...

THNX FOR THE ANTICIPATED SUPPORT

Mag and PTO are both on the left side on a Vmax-4.

If the right (recoil) side cylinders are running cold you more than likely have a crank that is out of phase.

Clasic symptoms..

Search "crank phase test"

Good Luck, opsled

Hey OPS;

I have searched but can't seem to find the specific thread about "crank phase test", can you help me out?
or decribe to me on how to do this crank phase test?

Thnx

Use a degre wheel and dial indicator for check your piston have a correct indexation of 90* of rotation betwin each cylinder. If not the crank gear slip on the crank and the timing are not right.

Thanks Ops!
I hope I don't end up tearing down, especially since it has just been rebuilt, but if so, at least I caught it before any internal parts were damaged!
