VDO Xtreme Tach Apex??

I have a VDO Xtreme tach hooked up to my s/c 2006 apex , it turns on functions & recalls runs. The problem is it reads off -50%(ie @ idle it reads 600 rpm & wot 6500rpm) I have the signal connection for the tach going to #1 coil pack.I know people have moved away from theses & went to pro loggers etc but i would like to get this to work . Any help appreciated Thanks.

You have to set the 4 dip switches inside the tach. I don't remember off hand exactly the switch positions. On the Apex, you'll use the 4 cylinder settings, on a Vmax-4 use 8 cylinder setting.

I found the dip switch settings for your VDO tach, click on the link above. I run a Prologger on my Turbo Apex, and it is set for (4-cylinder). Vmax-4 at 90* needs to be set for an (8-cylinder) setting. Every tach has to be configured, or it will read false. I believe the VDO's came factory set for (8-cylinder). Good luck.
