Hello, lm after a set of quad pipes for my 92 {which i pick up this after noon:muahaha: +1)

l dont want super trick(super expensive}

Pipes that require cutting up the sled

Pipes that require CDI unit change

ANYTHING ELSE CONSIDERED

More hp is great, but to be honest its the sound im really after!!

I was in the same boat. Bender pipes needed the crank welded to spin at 9000+ on a 92, which would also need a different cdi to make peak power. Hauck pipes were way too high. The guys on here pointed me to the PSI's. They make peak power on a stock 92's with little modifications. As long as your shift out is 8350, and you can get a clutch setup from SOMEONE, you'll do fine with a set of PSI's. I got my set from the owner here. Call Bruce at PSI. He has 1 set of new pipes left. They are unwelded as of yet, but for the right price, anythings possible. Let us know how you do!! Oh yeah, :schild27: to the site!!!! Also, congratulations on your new purchase.

Thanks for that, it always ends up being more!! the main thing is the sled has only done 2600km and i really do not want to 'go into the motor' or chop anything about as i want to keep it a stock 136" Vmax4...............i just cannot bare the thought of a 2 stroke 4.........anything breathing though one pipe ( got a pair of Reichards coming for the 600 'little max' :muahaha: } so i was figuring on sourcing the pipes.........and then jetting and probably buying a set of aftermarket clutches.....summer work!

I've never had the opportunity to spend much time around a quad trail setup to really get a feel for the sound difference. I did sell a Vmax-4 with a 90* fire Bender 880 trail setup in it for a friend 2 years ago and the sound was very nice. It was late spring and I only got to rip it around the yard in the soft reminents of our winter so I could not get a good feel for it or what it would be like on a long ride. The other quad setups I have been around were full mod 180* fire 10,000+rpm setups that wouldn't be any comparison to a trail quad sound. To me the 180's sound more like a big twin than a 4 cylinder. I did install a set of Bender twins on my 92 750 this year with the matching silencer and I must say I really like the sound. Even though there are only 2 pipes you can pick out the fact it is a 4 cylinder because they are all firing at different times. Perfomance it great, installation and tuning is simple, and the sound is impressive but not annoying.

I would like to get a set of quads too someday just to play with but I am very satisfied with the twins I have now. If your only looking for sound you might be happy with just a silencer change. It's an easy install and doesn't require any changes to the sled. It would be nice if you could find someone in your area that has one and give it a try. You might be happy with it and it would be less $ and hassle than quads.

Just a thought.

Good Luck and :schild27: , opsled

Thanks for the replies guys.....................well happy with the vmax4, will probably take opsleds advice, ive got PLENTY of power at the moment the last owner really spent time on setting it up, we live at the same elevation so i think i shall leave it be for the rest of the season..............oh apart from the decals they gotta go, no point in giving people warning of there iminent demise

pipes

If you change your mind I have a set of aaen quads that are trail quiet I will sell for 300.00!!
