Looking for someone headed west that would be willing to haul a sled from Wisconsin to southeast Idaho. If you are passing by, drop-off and pick-up can be arranged. Might be a long shot...but worth asking. Will pay for fuel on delivery. Josh

I have friends in MaCall and Boise. Set me up with an Elk hunt and I'll bring the sled along for ya. We have hunted up near the Frank Church wilderness where they had the Yellow Jacket ranch before it was taken out by the fires. I think one was in about 92 and the other about 97. The fires had taken the root system out of the mountains and after the hard rains the mountain slides took out the passage roads back in there. I think the name of the town was Warren. Took a whole day to get the trucks back in the sticks, had to chain up to get over the passes. Last time we hunted we got there Halloween day and the wardens advised us to get out while we could. They said if we stayed and the BIG snows came, we would have to leave the trucks in until spring. Needless to say we respected there advice and hunted anyways. Did see lots of elk as the snows were pushing them to lower ground. We stayed in a sheepherders tent for 10 days and by the time we left it was a hell of a challenge getting those trucks out but we did pull it off simply because we had some bad ass trucks built for those trips. Lift kits and winches were our salvation. The residents were still using propane fired refrigerators because there was no power out there and still using the crank style telephones. Met some awesome people in that little town, had to check your handguns in at the bar in order to get a beer and they gave them back when it was time to leave. Had a ball with the locals and would like to get back out there again to hunt some elk

That is definitely pretty country up that way. As far as the elk hunt...I don't know any guides...but if your pockets are deep enough, the Fish&Game will sell you an out of state license and tag. PM me with what you are speficically looking for, and maybe we can work something out.

Josh
