Pick up my first vmax4 what should i look for?????

the sled has 15088km on it. would the be more i showed be looking for? anyone have problem with the choke seizing up at the carbs? cable moves and the lever near the carbs but not the rods.

not sure that its a common problem, but lack of maintenance will cause anything to fail eventually.

took the time this morning to look at the choke and seen rust on the choke rod and it started to seize up at one of the carb. clean up the rod and the carbs at same time good as new. now to find a throttle cable

It is common for the choke rod to stick in the choked position in the cold. Keep a light oil on it to repel moisture and watch that it moves before you drive away.

what is the round plastic in the air box at the carb boots theres 4 of them. Don't have them on my 600 and just look like something waiting to go wrong like a piece of plastic get thing suck in the carbs

I have a brand new throttle cable out in the trailer. I would guess that it would be cheaper for you to find one locally when you factor in shipping, but I won't be using it. The Yamaha parts catalog says they're $13.99USD, but they're no longer available through them.

Hi and good for you and your purchase Marc8_2. I'll bet you discovered the fuel lines being hard and shrinking if they are original. I picked up a '92 with original shrank lines. The fuel pump pulse line on the right shrank itself disconnected. Compression is down on 3 and 4 because of it, Rats.

At the same time I found both plastic tab things on number 3 airbox things lying inside the reed cage. The things ALLSEASONRIDER explained.

Everything 8BU is 800.
