My srx only revs to 7100 rpms, So i was going to tighten up the secondary,
When I got it apart I saw it has a 52/41 Helix in it. And the twist was set at 3 - 6. I do mostly trail riding and the occasional lake run. I think I need a different helix. The peek buttons look like they need replaced So I didnt put it back together yet, I am not familiar with the twist sequence in the srx
Whats twist should i start at to get my rpms back up?? I dont know what the primary is set up at yet, I know it engages at 4800. Thanks

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CHECK POWERVALVES. ONLY REVING TOO 7100 RPM SET AT 90 DEGREE TWIST YOU GOT SOME ISSUES. 3:16 (tony)

Tony, New to the power valve thing, How do they operate, Do they just need cleaning?? I see the 3 cable running to each of them.. is there an adjustment there?

better check both clutches ie: what weights, springs, etc. If it was me I would put it completely back to stock if you have the parts and test it, then I would clean the powervalves (it never hurts and should be routinely done) If you test the stock setup and pull the same r's you know that the clutching is the problem. If he has changed the helix, who knows what else has been done?

IF YOUR UNSHURE HOW TO DO THIS, YOU MAY WANT TOO FINE A GOOD DEALER AND GET IT DONE RIGHT. THIS IS VERY INPORTANT TOO ANY SRX. SEE WHAT HAPPENS IS POWER VALVES STARTING GET GUMED UP. ITS USUALLY CAUSED BY TYPE OF OIL OR USEING. THEY CAN GET SO GUMED UP THEY START TOO STICK. ITS VERY INPORTANT ON SRX TOO KEEP THESE CLEAN AND FREE. MY GUESS YOURS NEED SOME ATTENTION ONLY PULLING 7100.

I found some info on how to do the power valves and adjustment, Im going to clean them and make sure they adjusted correctly. The peek buttons were pretty worn on the secondary and one was crack and it looked like the helix was engages crooked so to speak, Which could cause problems revving, I ordered to buttons ... see what happens. I dont have any of the stock stuff. I think YAMMIE GOD is right about the P Valves because it runs extremly well down low to 7100, where it tapers off... I'll have to look into it more..
