Hey everyone!!

Havent been on here for a few years (havent needed to buy any parts) since sold my MAX to my brother at that time. Sadly however, a piston blew up on him (bottom of the piston crumbled apart) last week. It is a 92 750 but the engine has nickelsil sleaves. Yamaha dlr told us that nickel wasnt used on the 92 and that it could be bored over .020 (maybe it is a nerwer engine in it??). We purchased .020 oversized pistons from royal distributing for it (not from dealer) but machine shop said jug/cyl. couldnt be bored over b/c nickel? Seems like gonna need 1 jug and he wants to do all 4 pistons while its apart (other 3 are bit scored and have over 10000km on them...compressions down etc. etc.).

looking to buy parts the "correct parts" to get him back out in the snow!!

first I would look for a different dealer, I may have a jug

LOL. I here ya. Different info. every time he phones!! Still dunno if can use the oversized pistons/bore the cylinder, but shoot me a pm on the jug you have. dunno if they are all the same but need the one on outside of pull start side of engine. THANKS!!

If you bore you will have to re-nickelsil and that will get expensive. Better off finding a cylinder.. One of you experts out there correct me if I'm wrong!

they are all the same you cannot oversize it unless you sleeve it because its nikasil, look at the wiesco piston chart somewhere on the page where the oversize is listed it will have a note that says it requires a sleeve.

If it's a 92 it will have 89A cast in the side. 93/94 was 8AX.

I have seen 92's with 93/94 cylinders on them. That is OK but all 4 should be the same.

Still looking? I've got a cylinder from a 92 and a complete brand new Wiseco piston set for a 750 which includes pistons, rings, circlips &wrist pins.

jugs

u are better off going with the updated jugs 93/94 they have much improved porting and will make u another 12 hp the wiesco and yamaha pistons are the only ones 2 use i have used other jobber once and the piston pin pushed in and the ring walked around to the exhaust port and wipped out the jug and piston so for me only 2 pistons u can put in that are not going 2 cause u problems , update ur pipes 2 800 pipes. good luck with that
