Hello I'm new here just bought a 1994 Vmax 750....I'm sorry if someone has posted this question before...I'm just getting used to this site....My question is what kind of mileage per tank are you guys getting on average with your Vmax's.

Last year after clutching I could get 130-140 kms per tanks ( only 2 litres left in tank) beating on it, riding groomed trails

Welcome to the site! :schild27::schild27::schild27:

Don't apologize for asking questions, that's what we're here for.

The most I've gotten is 10MPG taking it pretty easy on groomed trails.
On the other hand, when I was following vmax4rules I was getting about 5MPG.:3speechle

You'll probably find that the gas gauge is unreliable. On my sled, It starts out on the full mark, then drops like a stone. When it reads empty I've still got about half a tank. I reset my trip mileage when I fill it up and then go by how many miles I go before filling up again. I start looking seriously for a gas station around 70-80 miles.

And praying for a miracle at 90 miles, lol!!! I get about 9 or so with mine after jetting it up some last year. (9.2-9.6 or so depending on conditions) Used to get 10 on the button with it before that.

Mine varies between " I don't care" and "drink baby drink". Milage is'nt manly.

yeah i always go by smiles per gallon but after a day of smoking hotshot revs i still like to me able to make it back to the garage without walking, if only yamaha would have made a 20 gallon tank hahaha

That is some funny material right there. Opsled, you have a great sense of humour.

On a serious note, I get about 130 km's per tank on my '93. Funny thing is my g/f runs the exact same sled and I always run out of gas first. I would wager she gets 150km's or so per tank. She is lighter I guess so that must explain it. But I have to agree with opsled, fill er and drive er, when shes thirsty fill er again. I have literally emptied my tank in less than 2 hours. It was the first day I had quad pipes. 2 hours of wide open throttle on the river is very bad for gas mileage. Someone last year was talking about adding an extra bit of fuel capacity and adding a seat riser at the same time. Basically I think the seat riser would be an empty cavity that could double as a small capacity reserve tank. Im not sure if the project ever came to fruition but it was a pretty good idea to solve two problems at once.

As a friend put it,"The Vmax4 is the coolest way to process gas". The 1993 only ever got 6.3 miles per gal,or 100 kms per tank,63 miles per tank.My 800 is better than that but not much.

Fufighter, when your riding a Vmax4 you dont even think about gas mileage cause there is none, lol

My gift to you is to tell you now, prepare to get gas nearly every chance you have

saturday i 61 miles on 6.3gallons. that was on pretty nice trails and really babying the throttle... also i should mention that i have a proaction skid with a 1.25" ripsaw in my 93... i was impressed
